CUI IT Services will NEVER ask you for your password.
Phishing at a glance
The name associated with the account is "Cui IT Services?". IT Services does not use a question mark at the end of our name.
The sender's email address is "janet.scott@selu.edu." IT Services will not contact users from a non-CUI email address.
The salutation is addressed to "CUI Information Technology." IT Services will not send emails to users, addressed to ourselves.
The email is directing users to the "jimdo.com" domain. IT Services will not send users to a non-CUI domain for password management purposes.
Who is this from again?
Clicking the drop-down triangle reveals sender/recipient information.
Again, note the email is not from "@cui.edu" as shown in several places.
While sender information can be spoofed (faked), you can immediately see that this is not spoofed. This is NOT from IT Services.
What do I do?
Because Google is our mail provider, there is no need to contact IT Services about spam or phishing emails. Reporting these directly to Google is the best thing you can do to help prevent this from happening in the future.
Clicking the drop-down triangle next to the "Reply" button reveals several options.
